The IPL Acoustics S2tlm Ribbon is a compact transmission line with a larger coupling volume than the original S3tlm and the driver placed above the bass mid unit resulting in an improved performance in smaller and more awkward rooms. The S2tlm Ribbon uses the superb   IPL/6/M  with its ultra light but stiff magnesium cone, smooth response, sturdy cast chassis , and large shielded magnet assembly, and  the excellent RT1.3WE Ribbon tweeter; The RT1.3 WE ribbon  is a very high quality unit with high strength NEODYMIUM magnets. .The advantage of the ribbon is a far better mass to magnetic flux ratio, over most dome tweeters giving a fast and transparent sound. Both Tweeters are matched for response and sensitivity.

The S2tlm Ribbon is a further development of the S3tlm giving; the same large scale, open sound quality, a very natural midrange, and an extended bass. The treble has an ambience and sense of realism which is seldom heard with conventional tweeters.  All this is obtained without harshness ensuring that this is a speaker you can listen to all day without fatigue. The SPL response is extremely smooth and extended giving a well balanced and natural sound . The bi-wired crossover is 2nd order at 3.0 khz, and incorporates high quality  IPL Polypropylene capacitors in the treble leg ,  IPL top quality Steel laminate IPL bass inductors,  air cored treble inductors, and high power resistors. Line damping is with IPL"s profiled acoustic foam, and  Long Haired wool. for fine tuning. Now with magnetic grill covers for a cleaner look.
